Gaseneta was an underground Japanese noise-punk band that were active throughout the 1970's. One of the members of the group, Harumi Yamazaki, would go on to become an unsung hero in the underground Japanese avant-garde scene, working with EP-4 and creating his own solo project, Taco, which would see him working with former Gaseneta member Tatsumi Murata.

the word “gaseneta” isn’t particularly easy to explain in English. Loosely speaking, it means something akin to “disinformation”—or, less politely, “bullshit.” The revelatory racket of this album, however, resonates more like a universal truth.
